When it comes to phone mounts, compatibility is always a crucial factor to consider. The Peak Design Universal Phone Mount is designed to work with a wide range of mobile devices, including both Apple and Android devices.
Before purchasing a universal bar mount from Peak Design, make sure it is compatible with your phone.
The mount should be able to accommodate the size and shape of your bike or anything you plan to use it on, and it should also be compatible with the case you use.
The SlimLink connection system attaches your mobile device to the Peak Design mobile tripod, meaning you’ll need to invest in one of their cases.
To attach Peak Design’s Universal Bar Mount, simply wrap it around the bar and use the hooks to secure it.
From there, the phone case’s SlimLink technology quickly secures your phone into place.
You can adjust your phone to portrait or landscape. The mounting head also has 32 positions you can lock it into, making it a very versatile mounting option.
Honestly, the first few times you secure the Universal Bar Mount into place, it’s hard to un-attach the bar mount.
Though once you’ve used it a few times, it quickly becomes a piece of cake to attach and detach the mount quickly.
The good news is simply removing your phone from the mount is very easy. It can be done with one hand by pressing either side of the detach buttons on the back to release the phone.
When you invest in a product, you want to know that it will last. That’s why Peak Design offers a lifetime product warranty for all of their products.

The Peak Design Universal Phone Mount is designed to be versatile and functional, but does it live up to its promises?
The first time I used the mount, it definitely took a minute to get it securely attached to my bike, but once it’s mounted, it’s incredibly sturdy and secure.
You won’t have to worry about your phone falling out or jiggling around while you’re on the go. It’s also easy to adjust the positioning of your phone, so you can find the perfect angle for your needs.
In fact, since receiving this from Peak Design, I’ve used this handy device for more than just my bike.
I’ve used it on our family boat to record my brother-in-law wake surfing, while taking photos ansd vidos around the world, and while riding electric scooters around Malta.
So far, it’s helped me capture footage for my social media while I traveled solo in Italy, at Pompeii, Mount Vesuvius, Georgia (the country), and Naples. Basically anywhere that has a bar or railing is easy to lock on your phone to for photos and videos.
Though I’m sure this isn’t the use the Peak Design team had in mind while designing it, this universal bar mount really is universal. This and their mobile tripod are a must for solo travelers who want to capture their adventures without having to lug around a big tripod all the time.
And the best part is that this mount, along with the mobile tripod, is compatible with a wide range of phone sizes and models. So this is a huge plus, since you can continue to use the mount even if you upgrade your phone.
One thing to note is that the mount adds a bit of bulk to your phone, so if you’re looking for something that’s ultra-slim and lightweight, this might not be the best option for you.
However, the added weight is minimal and shouldn’t be a deal-breaker for most people.
The Quad Lock Bike Mount is a popular alternative to the Peak Design Universal Bar Mount. It features a patented dual-stage locking system that attaches your phone to your bike.
The mount is compatible with a range of devices, and the system allows you to quickly and easily attach and detach your phone from the mount. Though it’s bulky and not as aesthetically pleasing.
The Roam Co-Pilot Bike Phone Mount has a universal design that fits most phones, and it securely attaches to your bike’s handlebars. Plus is adjustable, so you can position your phone at the perfect angle for easy viewing.
The Nite Ize Wraptor Bike Mount is a versatile and durable option for mounting your phone to your bike.
Like Peak Design Universal Mount, it has a flexible strap that wraps around your handlebar and fits different handlebar sizes. Though it’s not as stylish as Peak Design’s model.
It’s quite versatile and can be mounted in a number of locations.
It can hold your phone in both portrait and landscape mode.
The SlimLink mounting system is also very easy to use and feels secure.
It’s not the easiest mount to attach to your handlebars (or other locations), and it can take some trial and error to get it just right.
It’s a bit tough to unhook once you’re done with it.
Depending on where you attach it, it can be hard to hit the Slimlink release to remove your phone.
The Peak Design Universal Bar Mount is a superb choice for anyone looking for a versatile, high-quality universal phone mount.
While it’s not perfect, it’s easily one of the better mounts on the market.
If you’re willing to spend a bit of time getting it installed properly, you’ll be thrilled with this mount.
