According to it’s website the bag comfortably fits devices up to 16 inches, however, since the height of the bag is listed as 15.7 inches, I believe this would be a tight fit.

But with a padded lining that cushions your laptop against bumps, scratches, and the usual knocks of daily commuting or travel, I could see it working.

There’s also a small interior strap with velcro that keeps your laptop in place.

Plus, the compartment is also roomy enough to slip in a slim case or a few extra documents without making the bag feel bulky.

The Maverick & Co. Vista Backpack is designed to balance functionality and style, and after using it for two months, I can say it largely delivers on that promise.

I put it through serious testing over the last two months, including eight flights, two train rides across France, a month of traveling non-stop, and countless days running around New York City, so I think it’s safe to say I’ve really tested it hard as both an everyday carry, and personal item.

And spoiler alert, it’s held up impressively well.

In terms of practicality, the compact form makes it ideal for commuting and business trips.

It also fits easily into most personal item sizers on flights, as well as on international trains, which is a huge plus for frequent travelers.

Plus, the multiple compartments help keep things organized. My laptop, chargers, and small accessories all have their place. This made life so much easier rushing through security at CDG in Paris.

The padded laptop sleeve offers solid protection, and I especially love the upper pocket under the magnetic flap for quick-grab items like my passport or headphones. This was especially handy on my long-haul flights when I had limited room and just needed to quickly reach a few essentials.

The outer zip pocket is also fine, but I don’t find myself using it much. Normally I toss in gum, or my charging cable so I can easily find it.

The materials and build are another highlight. The water-resistant fabric has kept my belongings dry during light rain, and the zippers are smooth and secure.

That said, some reviews have raised concerns about long-term durability, especially with the zippers, so the 12-month warranty is worth keeping in mind. Personally, I haven’t had issues yet, but I’ll be watching those wear points.

Comfort is also a strong point. The padded, adjustable shoulder straps distribute weight evenly, and the breathable back panel helps reduce sweating during long days of wear.

I’ll admit, when I first opened the backpack I was a bit skeptical of these straps being comfortable because they don’t seem overly padded compared to other bags I have, but was quickly proved wrong. Even when fully loaded for travel, the bag never felt like a burden.

Of course, no bag is perfect. My two small complaints are that the black interior makes it hard to see items at the bottom, and the Velcro inside can occasionally snag on fabric or accessories, which can be frustrating. But those minor drawbacks don’t outweigh the positives.

My biggest piece of advice is to keep clothing inside a packing cube and always double check the Velcro is properly fastened to avoid snagging anything.
