I think we can all agree, especially the ladies, that our hair dryers are really important to maintain our hair, especially while traveling.

In the past, I would rely on each place I stayed while traveling to provide a hairdryer, because bringing mine would take up way too much valuable space in my luggage.

And for a while, it worked out well, even though some of the hair dryers weren’t the nicest.

Then one icy winter’s day in Quebec City, my ex and I checked into our Airbnb and things took a turn for the worst.

I got out of the shower only to realize that there was no hair dryer provided by the host. Let’s just say that was the last time I relied on my ex to book our stays.

After spending hours trying to air dry my hair in a poorly heated apartment, I promised myself I’d never travel without a small hair dryer again.

We even ended up having to cancel our dinner reservation because I couldn’t go out in almost zero degree weather with damp hair.

So the motto of the story is always keep a travel hair dryer on hand!

I went on a bit of a research deep-dive to find the best travel hair dryer when I went to Europe this summer.

Read on to find out which travel hair dryers are my all-time favorites!

Drybar Baby Buttercup Travel Blow Dryer

Okay, so full disclaimer: the color of this blow dryer is one of my favorite things about it.

I also like that it’s fairly lightweight and compact thanks to its collapsible handle, so that it won’t be taking up a ton of extra room.

The cord is 7 ft (2.13 m), making it easy to use anywhere you’re staying.

The Baby Buttercup operates at 120/220-240 volts for overseas travel, and uses Ionic Technology meant to seal the hair cuticle and reduce frizz.

It also comes with a cute little travel bag!

Dimensions: 7.09 x 4.37 x 10 inches

REVLON 1875W Compact Folding Handle Travel Hair Dryer

The hairdryer I had for most of my adult life (until it died last year at ten), was a Revlon, so I’ve got a big soft spot for this brand.

So when it came time to find a travel sized hair dryer, this was the first brand I researched and eventually the model I bought and now use daily.

I really love the strength of it, plus that it’s foldable and compact enough to not take up my entire suitcase.

Fair warning though, the dual voltage settings are difficult to change, which you’ll need to do while traveling internationally. I’d keep a coin or something on hand to use so that you don’t break a nail trying to switch voltage settings.

Dimensions: 4 x 6 x 9 inches

I really love the strength of this Revlon, plus that it’s foldable and compact enough to not take up too much room in my suitcase (meaning I can pack that extra pair of shoes!).

BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium Travel Dryer

This miniature travel hair dryer packs one hell of a punch and is a super adorable color. What could be better?

I came really close to investing in this one mainly because it has a ton of fabulous reviews, and it’s also one of the lightest dryers in the line-up.

It also has a powerful 1000-watt motor and gives a natural ion-generated shine.

The main reason I went for the Revlon over the BaByliss was because a few reviews did comment that this dryer gets really hot and doesn’t have the benefit of shooting cold air like the Revlon does.

But if you want a dryer, that’s super hot and convenient to pack, this little guy is a fantastic choice.

Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer

If you have a large budget, you need to invest in the Dyson Supersonic.

My mom and sister both swear it’s one of the best investments they’ve ever made.

Getting to use it while I’m visiting them is always a serious highlight!

Besides being super lightweight and small, it always leaves my hair feeling smooth and less dry than other hair dryers do.

With 1600 watts, it dries your hair in no time with high velocity airflow, and it measures air temperature every 20 seconds, helping you to avoid the heat damage that other dryers cause when they blow too hot.

I love that it comes with magnetic attachments, including the Dyson smoothing nozzle, styling concentrator, and diffuser.

Conair 1875 Watt Double Ceramic Hair Dryer with Ionic Conditioning

Featuring double ceramic technology, plus frizz-fighting conditioning ions for less damage and more shine, the Conair 1875 is a fantastic option.

I’m also really into the matte white, with matte rose gold accents, and 5ft power cord.

The only thing I wasn’t in love with is its size. Even folded up, it still is fairly bulky (though because of this it seems quite durable).

I’d recommend this one for someone who’s going to be using it for sporadic trips and is packing a larger checked bag.

StyleCraft Peewee Dryer Tri-Plex Fusion

With flexible voltage capacity, a 7ft power cord, two attachments, and a travel case, the StyleCraft Peewee Dryer is a great investment.

It also folds in half, saving you a bit of extra space in your suitcase (meaning you have enough room for that extra dress or pair of flats).

The travel hair dryer is 1000 watts and offers dual voltage for international travel.

Flower Ionic Travel Mini Hair Dryer

I just love the bright colors that make it easy to spot when packing quickly.

Honestly, though, would you expect anything else from Drew Barrymore’s first line of hair products?

This dual voltage hair dryer with a six-foot cord is perfect for anyone who travels often and wants a lightweight ionic dryer.

Plus, with the Flower’s tourmaline ceramic technology, you’ll get an even heat distribution that generates ions to dry your hair fast while still keeping it healthy and frizz-free.

Dimensions: None available online – I’ve reached out to the Flower team for dimensions, and will update once I receive a response.

Andis 80020 1875-Watt Fold-N-Go Ionic Hair Dryer

The Andis Fold-N-Go travel hair dryer is a great option for travelers who don’t require dual voltage (meaning you won’t be traveling internationally with it).

I really like the retractable cord feature—it does not retract completely but enough that it keeps it from being tangled or requiring daily wrapping.

It’s also got a foldable handle, three heat settings, and Ionic and nano-ceramic technologies that create smoother, silkier hair in less drying time.

Dimensions: 4.13 x 8.13 x 6.13 inches

Conair miniPRO Tourmaline Ceramic Travel Hair Dryer

This adorable mini hair dryer offers 1200 watts of power with a folding handle, featuring two heat and speed settings, plus dual voltage, making it perfect for worldwide travelers.

The only downside is that the cord measures roughly two feet long.

Thankfully, it’s tiny enough when folded that the small cord is worth it since you’ll save a bit of valuable space in your suitcase.

Not to mention, Conair has been around for ages, and is a trusted name brand in hair care.
